The Frontiers are spending fortunes making AI smarter, and almost nothing helping people keep up.
Every year, more money pours into making AI more powerful than the year before. The people expected to use it are mostly left to figure it out alone.
The result is a quiet, growing distance between what AI can do and what everyday people feel ready to do with it. And it hits hardest where it should hit softest: the people whose jobs are most exposed to AI are the least likely to ever be trained for it.

And the training we already have is broken.
It's not that people don't want to learn. It's that the way we hand them learning doesn't work.
Online courses (Coursera, edX, the whole MOOC boom) were supposed to open learning up to everyone. Instead, almost no one finishes them. People sign up full of good intentions, then quietly drift away. After more than a decade, that still hasn't changed. Completion is stuck in the single digits.
And AI training is no exception. It's where the breakdown bites hardest. Even when companies hand people AI tools and courses, only about a third of employees say the training was enough. So even as AI races ahead, the share of people who feel ready for their own job is falling, from 59% to 49% in a single year.
People don't need more content to scroll past. They need a better way to learn.
